In case you didn’t have a chance to see, we have a new Idaho Flag, courtesy of Pete Dirlam. Our Idaho Flag was in need of replacement and was looking pretty poor. Mr. Dirlam purchased the flag and donated it to the school. Student council will be making him a Thank-you card, but if you see him, be sure to thank him personally!
We appreciate the time and support that Mr. Dirlam provides to our school! Thanks Pete!
April 15th through 21st is Volunteer Appreciation Week! All of us here at Heyburn Elementary would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the parents and community members who volunteer their time to work with our students! Our school would be at a loss without you! We have a special thank you for all volunteers when they come in this week!
This morning an unknown individual crossed the Heyburn playground. Following the national efforts of See Something – Say Something, the staff has been trained to be aware of their surroundings and report any activity that is concerning. They appropriately reported the incident which was then reported to the local police. Officers responded immediately and checked the area and found no concern. Some students and patrons may have noticed an increased police presence at the Heyburn. No concern was found and your children are safe. The school is on a regular schedule.
We commend our students and staff for being proactive in reporting any suspicious activity and our local law enforcement for their prompt response.
On Wednesday, we celebrated our paraprofessionals here at the Heyburn! The day started out with banners hung and a quick meeting. At the meeting was Mrs. Holthaus, District Superintendent, who shared her appreciation for all that our Para’s hard work. Para’s were presented with cards signed by all the students, donuts, and personalized espresso coffee (Thanks to the 208 Bakery and Espresso for making them all).
We love our paraprofessionals and would be lost without them! Thanks Again!

You will be receiving a letter with your child’s report card that pertains to a Parent Survey that we are conducting to help us to improve.
If you do not receive the letter, please call the office and they will inform you of which survey you should take. At that time, you will be asked if you are interested in taking the online survey or paper survey. We will then either send home the survey, or direct you which survey to complete on our Parent Survey page here on the website.
We appreciate everyone taking the time to complete our survey. Every response is one step closer to making Heyburn Elementary a great place to learn!
*Only one response will be allowed from each device (computer, ipad, phone, etc.)
