Medical Insurance/Medicaid

St. Maries Joint School District No. 41 does not provide medical insurance to automatically pay for medical expenses when students are injured at school or while participating in extra-curricular activities. The District does make student medical insurance available to families for their individual purchase through K&K Insurance Group. Forms are available at each school if parents are interested in purchasing student insurance. Parents should call K&K Insurance Group direct at 855-742-3135 to obtain information about plans, cost, coverage, etc. Enrollment is also available through their website at: www.studentinsurance-kk.com. Any student trying out for after-school sports must have school or other insurance. If school insurance is not taken, a waiver signed by a parent or guardian must be on file in the school office. The School District is not responsible for student school insurance. This must be arranged through the parents’ private carrier or the District approved student insurance policy. Additionally, in Idaho, FREE or LOWCOST INSURANCE is available through the Idaho Medicaid program provided by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. The Medicaid Basic Plan is for low-income children and adults with eligible dependent children. The Medicaid Enhanced Plan is for individuals with disabilities or special health needs. To apply for Medicaid, families can contact Family Medicaid direct at 1-800-926-2588.
